improves mother and child care in Afrika
Over the past 10 years, a solid foundation has been laid in Tanzania and on Zanzibar for strengthening maternal and child healthcare through mobile ultrasound.
A local network has been established. Educational opportunities have been mapped out. Several students have successfully completed ultrasound training. Mobile ultrasound devices have been loaned out where there was a need and sufficient expertise to use them professionally.
As a result, obstetric ultrasound care has become more accessible to women in remote areas. Timely detection of potential complications has made referrals to specialized care in regional centers more feasible.
All wonderful achievements, despite the challenges we also encountered. Over the next 10 years, we will continue to support these projects, while also aiming to realize new dreams.
We will celebrate our 10th anniversary on November 8, 2025, with a symposium. Together with professionals from various disciplines, we want to look back and ahead—but above all, engage in discussions about "Meaningful care in Tanzania." The final program will be published later on this website.
