verbetert moeder- en kindzorg in Afrika
2024 - 2024
- Jackline Shirima from Himo was once again offered a training session with our regular trainer, Regina Namumba. Regina was extremely pleased with Jackline’s progress.
- In April, the board of Stichting Mount Meru gathered for an inspiring brainstorming session about the foundation’s future. This resulted in an ambitious five- and ten-year plan: we aim to establish a skills lab in Tanzania.
- Veronika Tarimo from the Mamabus in Moshi has been working for the foundation for five years. The Lumify ultrasound device is still functioning well, and the tablet was replaced this year.
-
The two candidates who applied for the ultrasound training in Moshi were unfortunately not assigned a training spot.
- Three other candidates successfully secured a place in the new ultrasound training program in Dodoma, funded by the foundation.
-
Since the very beginning, Regina Namumba, senior sonographer and trainer, has been involved with the foundation. In 2024, she made the transition from Tabora to Zanzibar. She will continue providing training for the foundation’s candidates.
- Since October 2024, senior sonographers Dagmar de Bruijn, Marga Rietveld, and Saskia Brom have been mentoring our ultrasound students in Dodoma.
- The two new candidate board members, Trudy Elskamp and Heidi van Keken, will start in November.
