Training Costs
In 2025, SMM was able to enroll two candidates in a one-year ultrasound training program in Moshi. In addition, two graduated Mount Meru ultrasound practitioners were given the opportunity to attend an additional training with Regina Namumba in Zanzibar.
SMM has engaged Regina Namumba, a highly experienced sonographer with whom the foundation previously collaborated successfully at Mount Meru Hospital in Arusha, to provide intensive hands-on training for (SMM-selected) ultrasound practitioners. As of November 1, 2024, Regina Namumba started a new position at a clinic in Zanzibar, where she is able to continue providing hands-on training for SMM candidates.
