The risk of pregnancy complications in rural Tanzania is very high. Due to the distance to health posts, there are usually no standard pregnancy checks. Women only report to complications and often do so late.

Local health posts often lack the equipment to make diagnoses, so that pregnant women have to be referred to specialized centers. They are located at a great distance, the road to get there is a challenge and the necessary money is not always available. It may be too late before the necessary funds are collected.

By bringing a well-trained sonographer with a mobile ultrasound machine to the women in the countryside, many problems during pregnancy can be detected and treated early.

The Foundation is committed to this and continues to train ultrasound technicians for the mobile ultrasound service.
